Keeping Pembroke affordable by managing costs responsibly, supporting local business and housing, and planning carefully for sustainable growth.
Brian will continue working with the community and council to:
✔︎ Complete budget reviews focusing on fiscal restraint and operational efficiency and review of all regional cost sharing agreements.
✔︎ Business Retention and Expansion will support and attract business. Promote the Community Improvement Program (CIP). Downtown revitalization, strategically work with the PBIA. (e.g. Win this Space, landlord tour/matchmaking).
✔︎ Explore a Pembroke Tech & Maker Hub to attract mid-sized technology companies to help grow our local economy.
✔︎ Maintain existing recreational facilities while planning responsibly for future needs, so individuals and families can continue to enjoy well-maintained, accessible spaces to play, gather, and stay active.
✔︎ Maximize grants, partnerships, and shared services to reduce fiscal pressure on local taxpayers, such as water and sewer rates.

✔︎ Champion Algonquin College, support and grow destination events as economic drivers (e.g. Buskerfest, Multicultural Festival, Silver Stick, Canadian Fiddle & Stepdance Championship, etc.)
✔︎ Support affordable and attainable housing through developers and non-profit partners, such as Anhart (see News Release).
✔︎ Countinue working with the Assoication of Municpalites of Ontario (AMO) to advocate for a revised provincial funding model to reflect current municipal needs. .
✔︎ Explore the option of convening a Pembroke Economic Development & Affordability Forum, in conjunction with the city’s planned Affordability Study — bringing together local businesses, entrepreneurs, industry leaders, community organizations, funding partners, government agencies, and residents — to surface concerns, uncover gaps, and gather ideas that will shape a shared, actionable vision for growing our local economy and easing cost-of-living pressures.
